Markets!!!

Market place
Markets are places for time pass, shopping and making our wallets bare but our hearts full. Most of the time markets are crowded with so many people going hither and thither that you can’t even stand properly! People are always excited and markets are filled with loud voices. People usually come there for purchasing new things or gifts. Even if you don’t purchase anything, time passes and you don’t even notice that, as you are totally attracted by the designs of different ethnics and modern dresses. Markets are one of the places where different types of people mingle together. When people hear the word ‘market’, the first thing that flashes through their minds is festival because markets are most famous for them. Market place is decorated with dazzling light almost making you blind! It is a place where people from different religions, regions and following different cultural traditions come and have the freedom to choose whatever they want. It is a place where there is strengthened unity in such a vast diversity. Markets in India reflect our national cum regional culture.
In markets there many varieties of dresses and these even differ from time to time. During Diwali there are different types of dresses and during Holi the dresses differ in designs. They also differ during different seasons. During hot summer, dresses made of cotton are on sale and during chilly winters, dresses made of different types of wool are on sale. At last, during monsoon, usually raincoats and umbrellas are sold. Besides, there are different types of ethnics that are available all the time. For example, Kurta Pyjama , Sarees, Salwar Kameez, Ghagra Choli, Dhoti etc. Not only this, there are also different types of sarees ! Banaras sarees , Kanchipuram sarees, silk sarees,  cotton sarees etc.
Well, this is just a part of market ! Besides dresses, there are also hundreds of vegetable and fruit shops. Household items are also sold like doormats, washing machine covers, cloth bin, belt, utensils, chair, furniture items, shoes etc. In some states and even countries there are different types of market. These include – vegetable markets , are places for vegetables, fruit markets for fruits, markets for nuts , fish markets for fish and even flower markets! For instance, in Leh there is a separate market for dry fruits and varieties of nuts. Also there are special markets called floating markets which are very rare and one of them is in India, in Srinagar Dal Lake ! This market is on a special boat called Shikhara and trade is done in the middle of Dal lake. Also you can buy tikkis, kebab, fruit salad and ice creams on the way which is served during the ride.
Markets are not only found in capitals or cities but also in or near tourist attractions. Tourists usually prefer going to markets as they would want to buy souvenirs and photos as a memento.
And , the last but not the least are the delicious local foods and restaurants! Usually, people prefer eating outside food than home food.
Finally, I would conclude by telling that market is a place where the eyes are filled with excitement, the tongue is full of different tastes and the mind is merry and cheerful !!!
