The Tropical Paradise : Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The Tropical Paradise : Andaman and Nicobar Islands
We landed in the picturesque paradise of andaman in the city of Port blair. It lived exactly upto its fame in terms of it's view , the iconic monuments and the food. The place was overflowing with beaches and activities. For the first time we took the motor boats to move across tiny islands like the Ross island. The museums were filled with a variety of british era artefacts and corals.
Next we moved to the Neil island .We came across blue green emerald waters in the beaches . Serenity is what is found in this place. The sound of the waves crashing the shore , the gentle winds blowing and the birds chirping was all a breathtaking expirience. The sunset and sunrise was awesome and is a must watch from the Laxampur and Sitapur beaches. The best part over here for me was the Jet ski water ride. What an amazing expirience it was. Flying by the water and witnessing the cold water splash on our faces was a different kind of thrill.
The day after we stopped by at Havelock island. On contrary to the Neil island here the water was crystal clear. The Radhanagar beach had a variety of activities out of which we did snorkling. For people who can not do or are scared to do Scuba diving can try snorkling. This gave an excellent vision of the sea creatures. I even picked up sea cucumbers and starfishes. We saw other coral reefs and fishes. It was an excellent adventure.
Up Next was the twin islands. The best part of this entire trip was this magical twin island - Ross and Smith island. The two islands are connected by a small sand strip which usually appears during low tides and gradually disappreas as the day progresses due to high tide. Only a few people know and visit this place due to which it actually felt like a personal land. We enjoyed our time here by swimming and sun bathing.
After this we visited the mangroove forest, Baratang Island. It is one of the thickest , dense mangrove forests in the world. It was very big and we had to talk multiple boats even after which we had to walk. After a long walk into the forest we visited the limestone caves. Wonderful limestone structures were present that were formed naturally. Few native people explained us the phenomenon by which it is formed and what they believe.
Following this we came back to the mainland and visited few more remaining beaches, then boarded our flight and got back home.
